AnnotationSome of weed plants characteristic for potato fields have been found as new experimental host species for viroid PSTVd. Low viroid levels were detectable in Veronica argensis and Amaranthus retroflexus., while high level of PSTVd was found in Chamomilla sp., where it causes pathogenesis symptoms of similar strength as in tomato cv. Rutgers. Thus PSTVd represents obvious danger for cultured Chamomilla important for preparation of some medicinal compounds.
