Na tle miłosnego związku młodej polskiej szlachcianki z Pokucia i trzynaście lat od niej starszego czeskiego urzędnika ze Lwowa autor zwrócił uwagę na szereg problemów występujących w stosunkach Czechów i Polaków w Galicji lat czterdziestych XIX wieku. Do wspomnianych problemów należy zaliczyć m.in. kwestię relacji polsko-rusińskich czy odmienność kulturową przejawiającą się w zróżnicowanym położeniu kobiet w ówczesnym społeczeństwie czeskim i polskim.
Description in English
Against the background of a love affair between a young Polish noblewoman from Pokuttya and a Czech official from Lvov approximately thirteen years her senior, the author points to a range of problems afflicting the relations of Czechs and Poles in Galicia in the 1940s. Among these problems are questions of Polish-Ruthenian relations and cultural differences that manifested in, for example, the different status of women in Czech and Polish societies.
