AnnotationThis work summarizes first results of a one-year-long continuous sampling by SMPS and APS spectrometers at the suburban backgrounds site in Prague-Suchdol. The average particle number concentration was found to be 6500 particles/cm3. The size distributions were mostly monomodal with the mode located either in the Aitken (21-100 nm) ot the accumulation range. The dynamic of particle size distributions and especially situations when we found elevated concentrations of particles smaller than 25 nm were studied. New particle formation belonging to the category Banana event was identified most frequently. The average values of J3, were estimated to be 1.8 cm3s-1 and GR 6.6 nm h-1.
