AnnotationThis paper evaluates the historical ecological evidence presented in support of the Vera Hypothesis of pre-Neolithic landscapes. It concludes that there is no direct connection between early medieval and Mesolithic landscapes, although they can be analogous. As a consequence, medieval sources are not relevant to the Vera Hypothesis.
