Theoretical analysis was based on the interaction of the cells with both medium components (MC) including foetal bovine serum (FBS) and growth factors, and the nanofibrous poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) and poly(2-ethoxyethyl methacrylate) (PEOEMA) scaffolds or tissue culture polystyrene (TCP). The multiplication of activated chondrocytes (CHA), the synthesis of both collagen (COL) and glycosaminoglycans (GAG) on the scaffold (SC), and MC consumption were formulated on the base of chemical kinetic equations, which are set up on the experimental observations.
