AnnotationIn this work we studied the ability of microsatellite (CGG)n, releated to FRAXA syndrome, to form guanine quadruplexes. We show that this microsatellite do not form quadruplex easily in an aqueous solution, the presence of AGG triplets, typical for healthy individuals, facilitates the quadruplex formation and that the presence of ethanol as a molecular crowding compound leads to the stabilization even of (CGG)16.
