    AnnotationWe report on some laser-output-pulse characteristics of the compact capillary-discharge-pumped soft X-ray Ar8+ laser (=46.9 nm). Near-field and far-field images of the output laser pulse were obtained. The soft X-ray laser beam was also focused on “phosphor” screen using Si/Sc multilayer mirror.
