Description in English	The goal of this chapter is to introduce the basic methodological approaches used in the research (science and technology studies, gender studies), research methods and the basic parameters of the Czech R&D transformation and science policy. The chapter continues to introduce the research institutions in which the research was carried out, and the structure of the book.
