Annotation	V tomto článku jsme nastínili historii a současnost jaderných reaktorů, základní princip činnosti reaktorů a jejich nejpoužívanější typy ve světě. Jednotlivé typy jaderných reaktorů byly komentovány vzhledem ke své efektivitě, principu, použití paliva a zatížení životního prostředí. Dále bylo diskutováno jaderné i nejaderné použití uranu a výroba paliva pro jaderné elektrárny. Součástí diskuse byla také bezpečnost jaderných elektráren a ochrana před ionizujícím zářením. Posledním bodem byl popis principu fúzního reaktoru a jeho reálné budoucnosti.
Description in English	In this article we described a history and a present day of nuclear reactors, basic principles of nuclear reactor operation and the most often used nuclear reactor constructions in the world. The mentioned types of nuclear reactors were discussed according to the efectivity, operation principle, using of nuclear fuel and influencing of environment. We focused on the usage of uranium from point of view of nuclear reactor and non-nuclear use. We mentioned also nuclear power plant safety and the protection against the ionizing radiation. At the end the future of nuclear energetics was mentioned in connection with the fusion reactor.
