AnnotationThe effects of space weather on the magnetosphere-ionosphere-atmosphere system have been broadly studied within the program CAWSES (Climate and Weather of the Sun-Earth System) and project COST724. Here we show that strong geomagnetic storms do not affect total ozone at higher middle latitudes of the Southern Hemisphere contrary to the Northern Hemisphere, where an effect is observed under specific conditions
