The layers were created by pulsed laser deposition (PLD) in argon ambient. Depending on the deposition conditions the percentage of sp3 ("diamond") content varied from 40 % to 60 %. In vivo tests were evaluated. Two types of coated vessels (more graphitic x more sp3 content) and reference ones were operated into into arteria carotis of sheep.
