AnnotationWater desorption tests were conducted after immersing test pieces of polymer composites with epoxy resin, polypropylene (PP), or poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) matrix containing 0, 3, 6, 9, and 30 wt. % of cellulose fibers from recycled paper with or without coupling agent maleic anhydride grafted PP in a distilled water bath at room temperature for 24 h. Study of the water desorption kinetics proved the expected enhanced absorption of the composites after incorporation of fibers and a difference between two similar types of PVA was found.
