AnnotationIn this study we analyze excessive heat warnings issued by the Korea Meteorological Administration in 2007 and 2008. In order to characterize synoptic situation around Korean peninsula, NCEP reanalysis data of daily air temperature, outgoing longwave radiation, and daily precipitable water are examined. Implications for the further development of the heat-watch-warning system are discussed.
