Description in English Thin films of titanyl phthalocyanine (TiOPc) and fluorene-thiophene copolymer (FIPT) were studied by the surface photovoltage method (SPV). Using modified SPV theory, exciton diffusion lengths and thicknesses of a space charge region (SCR) generated at the free surface were determined. Short drift lengths of the charge carriers in the SCR indicate high recombination. The recombination losses result in a lower photovoltage measured for illumination from the free surface side than that for illumination from the substrate side.
