Annotationgamma-irradiation effects on rheology of melted UHMWPE, irradiated in the solid state, were studied in the oscillatory shear. The complex viscosity and elastic modulus of samples irradiated with doses higher than 50kGy decreased with increasing dose and were considerably dependent on the used irradiation-dose rate. An increase in elasticity during the heat treatment of melts was also measured.
