AnnotationThe profiles of the fracture toughness and corresponding profiles of the fraction of the crystalline beta-phase were assessed along injection-moulded bars of isotactic polypropylene. Based on the similarity of these two profiles a structural model was formulated. It suggests an enhanced continuity of the amorphous phase in polypropylene containing the beta-crystallites.
