Annotation	The knowledge of the temperature-depth profiles obtained by a precise temperature logging in boreholes can be used to reconstruct climate history of several past centuries. The climate reconstructions obtained by the inversion of the temperature logs may well supplement the instrumental meteorological as well as proxy data.
