    AnnotationSince the first experiments of Wilson who used a cloud chamber as a sensitive tool for detecting high energy radiation the condensation on ions found increasing interest. The first theoretical interpretation of ion-induced nucleation stems from Volmer and independently from Frenkel. They modified the classical nucleatin theory by using the electrostatic energy of a charged spherical droplet as an additional therm in the free energy of the nucleus formation.
