AnnotationUltra-high molecular weight polyethylene is used in arthroplasty for total joint replacements. Irradiation of UHMWPE may influence its supramolecular structure and decrease wear, which is usually the life-limiting factor of TJR. We followed the structural changes by microscopic, scattering and thermal methods.
