AnnotationIn summary our results document specific expression of UCP2 in hematopoietic cells from the early stages of their prenatal development, and a surprisingly strong expression of this gene in maturating erytroid cells, including reticulocytes. Our results suggest involvement of UCP2 in erythropoiesis, starting from early stages of the prenatal development
