    AnnotationWe investigated general features of spontaneous symmetry breaking in systems with nonzero density of a conserved charge. Based on a Ward identity for the Noether currents, we proved in a model-independent way that nonzero density of a commutator of two conserved charges implies the existence of a Goldstone boson with quadratic dispersion relation. The general result is illustrated on a number of examples.
