    AnnotationInvestigation of many nonlinear dynamic systems represents an extremely complicated business due to possibility of occurrence of chaotic phenomena. One of the modern and powerful methods for predicting their behavior is the energetic approach. The paper presents its fundamental ideas and illustrates its application to a two-disc Rikitake dynamo.
