The intrusions of the centre lie intermediate between the most often studied extremes in terms of erosive levels: deep intrusions in the crystalline basement and products of active volcanoes. New geological survey was focused on structural phenomena; besides, a detailed geophysical survey was orientated at hidden subvolcanic bodies. Tectonic setting of the graben interior was identified as blocky one. A computer model of the centre was created down to the level of the crystalline basement, also based on results of detailed tectonic studies.
