AnnotationCo/Mg-Mn/Al hydrotalcite-like compounds with Co:Mg:Mn:Al molar ratios of 4:0:2:0, 2:2:2:0, 2:2:1:1, 4:0:1:1, 4:0:0:2 and 2:2:0:2 were tested for N2O decomposition. The catalyst prepared from Co hydrotalcites containing both Al and Mn as the trivalent cation showed the highest activity, which was retained in the presence of oxygen but inhibition by water vapor was observed. Temperature programmed reduction showed that redox properties of the catalysts play important role in the reaction. An optimum extent of reduction led to a high catalytic activity.
