Annotation
Abundance and phenology data are provided for the copepod Moraria brevipes (Sars, 1863)(Canthocamptidae) in three types of woodland habitat in the Šumava Mountains, Czech Republic: living spruce forests, dead spruce forests after bark-beetle attack and clearings. Highest densities (>200 000 ind.m-2) were recorded in June at a site one year after clearcutting and in a dead spruce stand. Peaks in abundance were associated with large accumulations of litter.
