Language eng - English Country SI - Slovenia Keywords capillaries ; skeletal muscle fibres-oxidative and glycolytic ; stereology Subject RIV EA - Cell Biology CEZ AV0Z50110509 - FGU-C (2005-2011) Annotation The length of capillaries per unit fibre length was greater in rat soleus than in extensor digitorum longus (EDL) muscle but capillary length per unit fibre volume was in EDL muscle greater. There was no difference in the length of capillaries per unit fibre surface between the two muscles. The length of capillaries per unit fibre surface was in oxidative fibres greater than in glycolytic fibres and probably reflect better capillary supply of former fibres Workplace Institute of Physiology Contact Lucie Trajhanová, lucie.trajhanova@fgu.cas.cz, Tel.: 241 062 400 Year of Publishing 2006
