    AnnotationThe length of capillaries per unit fibre length was greater in rat soleus than in extensor digitorum longus (EDL) muscle but capillary length per unit fibre volume was in EDL muscle greater. There was no difference in the length of capillaries per unit fibre surface between the two muscles. The length of capillaries per unit fibre surface was in oxidative fibres greater than in glycolytic fibres and probably reflect better capillary supply of former fibres
