    OECD category: Chemical process engineering

Cytostatic platinum compounds are usually used as medicaments for cancer therapy. During the therapy Pt compounds are excreted from human body into hospital wastewater. This toxic wastewater cannot be treated by a common sewage treatment, thus platinum cytostatic drugs could accumulate in natural water sources. The aim of this work was to study the possibility of an application of sorption process for the platinum cytostatic drugs elimination.
