The paper examines whether peritumoral administration of IFN-gamma can inhibit growth of HPV16-associated, MHC class I- MK16 tumour transplanted in syngeneic mice. Treatment of tumour transplants with IFN-gamma was efficient until the tumours reached a palpable size. Treatment of surgically induced minimal residual tumour disease was moderate, reproducible, but statistically insignificant.
