Článek vysvětluje podstatu sporu mezi dominikány a jezuity, k jehož řešení byla zřízena Congregatio de auxiliis (1597-1607). Soustředí se na klíčovou otázku, zda Bůh predestinuje před poznáním zásluh (ante praevisa merita) nebo po poznání zásluh (post praevisa merita). Článek ukazuje různá řešení vzniklá v prostředí jezuitů. Rovněž představuje stanovisko J. D. Scota a některých barokních františkánských a kapucínských teologů.

The paper explains the nature of the dispute between the Dominican and Jesuit orders to the resolution of which Congregatio de auxiliis (1597-1607) was established. It focuses on the key issue whether divine predestination occurs before the foreknowledge of merits (ante praevisa merita) or after their foreknowledge (post praevisa merita). The paper presents various solutions to the issue arising among the Jesuits. It also outlines the positions of J. D. Scotus and some Baroque Franciscan and Capuchin theologians.
