Árnassonem, jenž se celoživotně zabývá problematikou výzkumu modernity z interdisciplinární perspektivy na pomezí filosofie, sociologie, historie, ekonomie a politologie. Profesor Árnasson, jenž ve svých analýzách navazuje na starší Eisenstadtovu koncepci axiální transformace, již dlouhá léta působí v Čechách na Filosofickém ústavu Akademie věd a spolupracuje s Milanem Kreuzziegerem, jenž diskusi s Kryštofem Boháčkem obohatil o představení celého spektra perspektiv svého nového sborníku “Modernita/modernity v eurasijských a civilizačních kontextech”. Kryštofa Boháčka zvláště zajímá otázka fundamentální pro celé bádání o modernitě, kterou v eisenstadtovské konceptualizaci můžeme zjednodušeně nazvat axiální paradigma: lze ve vztahu k evropským intelektuálním vzorcům a ideji evropské kultury (v patočkovském smyslu) dnes ještě mluvit o axiálním paradigmatu? Nebo je nosný spíše transformativní prvek v kontextu komplexních konstelací, jak se snaží ukázat prof. Árnasson? Description in English In the Philosophical Café of 2019, Kryštof Boháček meets Jóhann P. Árnasson, who has been involved in lifelong research into modernity from an interdisciplinary perspective connecting philosophy, sociology, history, economics and political science. Professor Árnasson, who continues his analysis of Eisenstadt’s concept of axial transformation, has worked for many years in the Czech Republic at the Institute of Philosophy of the Academy of Sciences and collaborates with Milan Kreuzzieger, who enters the Boháček´s talk with in Eurasian and civilization contexts”. Kryštof Boháček is particularly interested in the fundamental question for the whole research on modernity, which in Eisenstadt conceptualization can be (in simplified terms) called an axial paradigm: can we still speak of an axial paradigm in relation to European intellectual patterns and the idea of European culture (in the Patočka sense)? Or is more scientifically productive the transformative element in the context of complex constellations, as shows prof. Árnasson?
