    AnnotationIt was ascertained that the parallel reactions of HDO of octanoic acid and HDS of 1-benzothiophene revealed that the support type influenced the activity and selectivity of the studied NiMo sulfides. Unsupported NiMo sulfide, prepared for the matter of comparison, resulted in the lowest HDO and HDS activities due to its low surface area of 33 m2g-1.
