AnnotationMaster Claretus (or Bartholomaeus de Solentia) laid the foundations of lexicography in the Czech lands and is known as the author of three Latin-Czech dictionaries in verse form, two of which include passages dealing with medicine: Bohemarius (before 1360), and Glossarius (around 1365). After an introduction dedicated to Claretus himself, the paper focuses on Latin names of diseases of Greek origin (and their Czech equivalents) included in the two abovementioned treatises. The analysis of terms of Greek origin used by Claretus is accompanied by three case studies dealing with three Latin - Czech terminological pairs.
