AnnotationmMass presents an open source and cross-platform software environment for precise analysis of mass spectrometric data. It covers a wide range of common processing tasks such as import from popular data formats, smoothing, baseline correction, automatic peak picking, deisotoping and recalibration as well as advanced sequence manipulations such as in silico digestion, fragmentation etc. Current version is written in Python programming language and uses wxPython libraries for graphical user interface. In addition, NumPy module is used for faster computing of mathematical tasks. A piece of code written in C is also incorporated, particularly to speed up spectrum drawings. mMass is available under the terms of the GNU General Public License as published by the Free Software Foundation
