The DBD plasma and diffusion flame atomizers were studied by phase-resolved optical emission spectroscopy employing time-resolved ICCD technique. Whilst the spectral lines of argon were synchronized with the DBD discharge current according to the expectations, analyte lines (Cd at 508 nm and Hg at 254 nm) were substantially delayed.
