Na jaře 1945 národněsocialističtí i další nekomunističtí politici v čele s prezidentem Benešem uzavřeli v březnu v Moskvě a v dubnu v Košicích významné a zavazující programové dohody s komunisty. Bez ohledu na stávající mocenský poměr sil výhodný pro komunisty také Československá strana národně socialistická a její představitelé nerezignovali a hleděli do budoucna s nadějemi na prosazení a obnovu demokratických zásad v procesu poválečné politické obnovy země. Zároveň však ještě nebyli národní socialisté s to odhadnout míru svého politického vlivu a mocenských pozic v domácích poměrech. Text sleduje a vysvětluje činnost národně socialistické strany v nových politických poměrech a institucích v kontextu poválečných systémových přeměn v období od jara 1945 do voleb v roce 1946.

Chapter deal with events after the year 1945, traces and explains the activities of the National Socialist Party under the new political conditions and institutions in the period from the spring of 1945 to the elections of 1946. In the spring of 1945, National Socialis and other non-Communist politicians, led by president Beneš, concluded important and binding programmatic agreements with the Communists in Moscow and Košice. Regardless of the existing balance of power in favour of the Communists, the Czechoslovak National Socialist Party and its leaders did not resign themselves to the promotion and restoration of democratic principles in the process of the coutry's post-war political reconstruction. However, the were unable to gauge the extent of their political influence and positions of power in the domestic situation.
