AnnotationTransition metal oxides are often used as catalysts in the oxidation of organic compounds present in air. The combination of multiple transition metal cations in oxide catalysts can be advantageous due to the synergistic effect. Ni, Cu, Co, and Mn are among the most commonly used active components in transition metal oxide catalysts. These oxides have several advantages, including their relatively low cost and availability, which make them a good alternative to relatively expensive noble metal-based catalysts. The aim of this work was to investigate new oxida-tion catalysts based on nickel oxide in combination with other transition metal oxides, such as Cu, Mn and Co, and their catalytic performance in the total oxidation of ethanol, which was chosen as a model volatile organic com-pound.
