    AnnotationThe lecture presented Karel Dostal’s, the leading figure of the Prague National Theatre, to the classical drama, esp. tragedy, during the time of Nazi occupation (1939–1945). The role of the ancient tragedy in the dramaturgy of the theatre was discussed together with the concepts Karel Dostal conceived and applied in the individual productions in the atmosphere of immense political oppression.
