In our research, we focused on the improvement of the sensitivity of PCR detection of short tumor DNA fragments. For that purpose, we decided to preclean blood samples off large DNA fragments that are not usable as biomarkers. For sample precleaning, we have developed a new 3D-printed device, that allows DNA fractionation. The device is fabricated from chemically and mechanically stable HD-PLA. The precleaning technique is based on gel electromigration separation techniques. A method for the separation of short DNA fragments was developed, partially validated, and tested on blood plasma and serum matrices.
