AnnotationIn contrast to the historiography that describes the postwar situation of Czechoslovak Jews as a continuous decrease in the Jewish population, first because of the Shoah and then because of both emigration and the subsequent “assimilation” of those who remained in the country, in her chapter the author aims to demonstrate the complexity of several interconnected postwar migrations which resulted in a radical change in the centers of Jewish settlement in the country and their religious and linguistic traditions.
