    To better understand the membrane behavior and to be able to predict optimum OSN conditions, we performed extensive testing of 1 kDa and 3 kDa MWCO membranes using solutes with MW between 100 and 1000 Da in different solvents. The results disclosed the influence of solutes‘ polarity and shape and compatibility of polarity of all components on the permeance and rejection of individual solutes. A simple model for dead-end setup was also derived and evaluated.
