Dva panely v rámci 12. sjezdu českých historiků představily současné podoby výzkumu intelektuálních dějin (IH) v českém akademickém prostředí a několik případových studií. Přestože bádání v oblasti IH je poměrně rozsáhlé, neexistuje institucionální platforma, kde by se badatelé různých specializací pravidelně setkávali a konfrontovali vlastní přístupy a výsledky. Diskuze tak zůstávají většinou časově ohraničené na jednotlivá historická období, stejně tak je koncipována i většina výzkumných projektů. Účastníci panelů různých specializací diskutovali z rozdílných metodologických perspektiv dějiny idejí, myšlení (politického, ekonomického, teologického) či intelektuální praktiky. Základní společnou otázkou byla především aplikace metodologických přístupů IH a práce s jejich základními pojmy (např. transfer, sítě, kánon, vědění, textové praktiky, politika, expertní kultury aj.).

Two panels at the 12th congress of the Czech historians discussed contemporary branches of intellectual history in the Czech academic context and presented several case studies. There is currently no institutional platform where researchers of various specializations can meet and confront their approaches and results. Most of the projects are restricted to individual historical epochs and there is little dialogue among them. Participants of the panels discussed from different methodological perspectives history of ideas, thought (political, economic, theological) and intellectual practices. The key common question was related to an application of methodological principles of intellectual history and the use of key terms such as transfer, networks, canon, knowledge, textual practices, politics, expert culture etc.
