The study presents a content analysis of three letters that were part of the correspondence of Knight Karel the Elder Kořenský of Terešov in Komařice and Zborov (* 1558, † 1619) and a comprehensive evaluation of these sources in the broader context of the events in South Bohemia during the Estatesʼ Rebellion of 1618-1620. The texts of the letters, which are a remarkable testimony to the political attitudes and wartime hardships of the lower nobility at a dramatic time, are printed in full in an appendix to the study.
