Die Studie gibt eine allgemeine Einführung in die Persönlichkeit und das Leben des Prager Erzbischofs Johann Lohelius (1549-1622). Im Mittelpunkt steht sein Wirken während des böhmischen Ständeaufstandes von 1618-1620, den der Prälat im Exil verbrachte. Der Autor befasst sich auch mit Lohelius' Rückkehr nach der Niederschlagung des Aufstandes und seinen Bemühungen um den Wiederaufbau der katholischen Kirchenorganisation und die Förderung der Rekatholisierung in Böhmen.

The study generally introduces the personality and life of the Archbishop of Prague Johann Lohelius (1549-1622). It focuses on his activities during the Bohemian Estates Uprising of 1618-1620, which this prelate spent in exile. The author also deals with Lohelius's return after the defeat of the uprising and his efforts to rebuild the Catholic Church organization and promote recatholization in Bohemia.
