The complete genome sequence of oleaginous strain Rhodococcus opacus PD630 from the Leibniz institute DSMZ-German collection of microorganisms and cell cultures (DSM 44 193, Braunschweig, Germany) was obtained by combination of Oxford Nanopore sequence technology with Illumina high quality sequencing data. One chromosome (8.37 Mbp), one linear (pRoPD630_1, 538 909 bp) and two circular (pRoPD630_2, 167 985 bp and pRoPD630_3, 85 051 bp) plasmid sequences were determined and annotated. This work provides the correct R. opacus PD630 genomic framework for the development of genetic engineering strategies to boost the application of this strain as microbial cell factory for lipid production.
