The study deals with scientific and literary activities, which were to varying degrees associated with the influence of Archduke Ferdinand II. in the Czech Republic and Tyrol. This topic has received less professional attention than the Archduke's interest in establishing the collection of arts and curiosities, architecture, or organizing festivities. This text aims to provide an overview of this topic. As for the language specification of the works we will deal with, it was mainly Latin texts, as Latin was the language of science and also the language of humanistic literature, but we will also mention works in vernacular languages.
