Následný hluboký oběh podél riftových zlomů vede k dalšímu ohřevu vody a nakonec výstupu termálních vod.
Late Variscan Altenberg-Teplice Volcanic Complex is built mainly of thick rhyolite ignimbrite accumulations, filling up Altenberg-Teplice Caldera. Caldera marginal faults were intruded by granite porphyry dikes. The entire caldera was crowwcut by Eger Rift during Neogene. Recently, rain-water infiltrates in the uplifted segment of the caldera. Underground water gets heated by radiogenic heat. Subsequent deep circulation along rift faults heats the water more and enables outpouring of thermal springs.
