Zvažuje způsob, jak na základě typických strategií vyprávění popsat autorskou poetiku a poskytnout tak vodítka nejen k jejímu rozpoznání, ale také ocenění. Namísto kanonických Povídek malostranských je zde zaostřeno na dvě rané Nerudovy prózy v žánru arabesky (Z notiční knihy novinkáře, U okna). Už v nich lze totiž identifikovat narativní postupy, které Neruda dále rozvíjí. Nejde však jen o poetiku vyprávění, ale také o pěstování schopnosti identifikovat rétorické strategie textového subjektu obecně. Description in English Originally inspired by the current debate on the requirements on secondary students literary history knowledge for their final exam, which includes the capability of identifying an author by assessing the particular qualities of a textual sample, the paper suggests how to do develop a strategy of tracking typical narrative strategies. Instead of notorious reading of the canonical volume Povídky malostranské by Jan Neruda, it suggests to focus on his early pieces of short fiction in the genre of arabesque (Z notiční knihy novinkáře, U okna) which inhere a number of narrative tools that the author develops in his later works. The approach introduced may give the teachers a cue how to get students not only trained but also engaged in understanding and appreciating narrative poetics as well as some of the rhetorical strategies of a text in general.
