Observations of binary and multiple stellar systems yield parameters of the component stars complementary to those provided by standard model atmospheres of single stars. The interpretation of spectroscopy of multiple stellar systems is, however, complicated because of blending of component spectra and a more complex physics due to the proximity effects. The role of limb-darkening in line profile and the reflection effect is briefly summarized here.
