The site of Staré Hradisko in the Czech Republic, a Late Iron Age hillfort - oppidum of the La Tène culture settled in 2nd-1st cent. BCE provided a large collection of glass together with evidence of glass-working. Besides typical La Tène products such as glass bracelets, beads and pendants, glass vessel fragments also come from archaeological excavations on the site. Vessels did not belong to the assortment of secondary glass workshops in La Tène Europe and represented imports from the Hellenistic world. A group of light blue opaque cast glass vessel fragments from Staré Hradisko and another vessel of similar characteristics from Kyme in present day Turkey are the subject of the study.
