Článek stručně shrnuje základní informace o rozmanitosti půdní fauny v lesních půdách. Na výsledcích několika případových studií pak ukazuje, že struktura i kvantitativní parametry společenstev půdních živočichů jsou těsně spjaty především s daným typem půdy a vegetace. Upozorňuje rovněž na významný vliv druhu dřevin na vývoj a složení půdní fauny a na možné odlišné reakce jednotlivých skupin živočichů na disturbance lesních ekosystémů a na změny způsobu lesního hospodaření.

The article summarizes shortly basic knowledge on the diversity of soil fauna in forest soils. It is shown on the examples of the results of several case studies that both the structure and quantitative parameters of soil animal communities are closely related to the particular type of soil and vegetation. The paper also highlights the significant influence of tree species on the development and composition of soil fauna, and mentions different reactions of individual groups of animals to disturbance of forest ecosystems and to changes in forest management.
